My Approach

At Philadelphia Talk Therapy, I work with individuals in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who are navigating depression and anxiety, life challenges, acute mental health issues (i.e. OCD and panic attacks); or simply seeking more meaning and fulfillment. Whether you’re showing up in crisis or looking to understand yourself more deeply, therapy can be a space where you begin to feel more grounded, capable, and connected.

What I Treat: My Specialties

I specialize in working with adults who are experiencing a range of emotional, psychological, and relational challenges. My areas of focus include:

  • Anxiety Therapy: Supporting clients with generalized anxiety, social anxiety, perfectionism, panic attacks, and chronic worry, using evidence-based approaches like CBT and mindfulness.

  • Depression Treatment: Helping clients move through disconnection, low motivation, and emotional exhaustion to rediscover energy, purpose, and self-compassion.

  • Men’s Issues Counseling: Offering a space where men can explore vulnerability, emotional expression, identity, and relational concerns—without shame or judgment.

  • OCD Treatment: Working with people experiencing intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors, using effective tools like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

  • Career Counseling: Helping clients clarify goals, navigate burnout, make career transitions, and manage the emotional toll of professional life.

  • Trauma Therapy: Providing a safe, steady space to process unresolved trauma and foster greater self-trust, resilience, and healing.

  • Grief & Loss Counseling: Honoring the complexity of loss and walking alongside you as you make meaning, heal, and integrate your grief.

  • Flourishing & Well-being: Supporting clients who are doing well overall but want to focus on personal growth, relationship satisfaction, and living more intentionally.

What I Believe: Core Values

I believe therapy should be both effective and human. That means I aim for meaningful progress—often within the first 8–12 weeks—and I don’t just sit back and nod. I’m engaged, honest, and deeply invested in helping you get where you want to go.

If we’re not the right fit, I’ll help you find someone who is. I value transparency, clear communication, and demystifying the therapy process. I also believe therapy can feel good: empowering, clarifying, even enjoyable at times. You deserve care that honors your complexity, and I’m here to offer just that.

Finding the right therapist is by far the biggest hurdle to therapy. Research shows as many as 57% of new clients quit after one session. I offer no-cost 20-30 minute video consults to ensure I’m a fit for your needs.

How I Work: Evidence-Based and Relational

My clinical approach is eclectic, relational, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I tailor therapy to your specific needs and goals, drawing from a range of modalities that promote insight, change, and healing. Here’s what that might include:

  • Humanistic Therapy – A client-centered approach that emphasizes authenticity, self-awareness, and personal growth.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Helps you notice and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – Explores the “parts” within you—like the inner critic or the protector—to promote healing and self-integration.

  • Psychodynamic Therapy – Looks at unconscious patterns and early experiences to better understand how they’re shaping your present-day struggles.

  • Mindfulness Meditation – Builds your capacity to stay grounded in the present moment, increasing emotional regulation and reducing stress.

  • Positive Psychology – Focuses on strengths, values, and meaning to enhance overall well-being—not just reduce symptoms.

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) – Helps you better understand, express, and respond to your emotional experience, especially in relationships.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – Supports you in accepting difficult thoughts and feelings while taking actions aligned with your values.

  • Attachment-Based Therapy – Explores how your early relational experiences may be influencing how you show up in relationships now.

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) – An evidence-based treatment for OCD that helps reduce compulsive behaviors and regain freedom.
